Shot of the day! – Beach huts in the mist

Shot of the day! - Beach huts in the mist

In keeping with the mono theme and my take on different facets of local architecture I thought that in view of today’s dismal weather here in Essex I’d share this shot of some of the beach huts on Mersea Island.
We usually associate these colourful little structures with the frenetic activity of the sailboarders, lazy days by the sea and balmy summer holidays but in the winter months, with a sea mist rolling across the distant sand dunes and a deserted beach they take on a lonely, almost forlorn sort of character which is emphasised further with the black and white photography. Bring on the summer!
